If I could scream something to legislators everywhere, this article may tie for 1st place. If there is any confusion, children aren’t blueberries. Schools aren’t a grocery store. We don’t send back the mushy or moldy ones…the ones with “problems.” We love and care for them ALL. Why? Because we are humans. Test scores (surprisingly) aren’t #1: Children are. Children matter. Their lives matter, and wayyyyyy down the line of importance are those admired test scores.

So, some advice to people everywhere. Before we criticize teachers for their test scores, consider that there are many, many variables at play. We don’t send any back. We love them all. slide1
